Banglar Awaas Yojana(BAY)
BAY aims at providing a pucca house with minimum size of 25 sq mt floor area with a hygienic cooking space to all houseless households and those households living in kutcha or dilapidated houses. This housing scheme has been launched by MoRD, GOI from the F.Y – 2016-17 with the unit assistance to the tune of Rs 130000 per house. The unit assistance is borne by the Central and State Government in the ratio 60:40 respectively. The assistance is directly credited to the Bank account of the beneficiary. Besides this, each beneficiary is entitled to get wages of 95 unskilled mandays under MGNREGS and assistance for construction of toilet under Mission Nirmal Bangla Prakalpa if the beneficiary is enlisted in the BLS 2012.
On the basis of housing deficiency and other social deprivation parameters in SECC 2011 data, a Permanent Waiting List(PWL) has been generated by the MoRD, GOI which is uploaded in the MoRD,GOI website www.pmayg.nic.in. Based on this waitlist and nos of house availability, allocation is done per year.

The assistance is directly credited to the Bank account of the beneficiary in three separate instalment ie 1st @ Rs 60,000,2nd @ Rs 60,000, & 3rd @ Rs 10,000 on the basis of stages of construction of house. Besides this, each beneficiary is entitled to get wages of 95 unskilled mandays under MGNREGS and assistance for construction of toilet under Mission Nirmal Bangla Prakalpa if the beneficiary is enlisted in the BLS 2012.
How To Apply
Since the PWL has already been prepared by the MoRD,GOI, the beneficiaries whose names are already enlisted in the list need not apply further for the assistance. On the basis of this priority list, category wise sanction of the houses is accorded in every financial year.
